Why do I have to pay more than a regular membership?

As noted on the main registration page, there are three prerequisites to become an academy member:
1) Industry representation
2) A body of recognized work
3) An industry sponsor or reference.

iPOP/NYLA/MGMT talent would not normally meet these requirements and would not qualify for membership. However because of the academy’s partnership with iPOP, special consideration is being given to such talent, and these pre-qualifications are being waived.

Additionally, besides the 15 regular membership perks, attendees of iPOP who register will also receive 3 free tickets to the Youth Oscars, held in Hollywood (a $600 value).
